FIU School of Music

The objective of the Flute Choir program is to promote music in the community while building leadership skills and musicianship among America’s youth. The FIU Flute Studio provides annual workshops and master classes in our concert hall for students and adults of all musical types in our community. Our flute students offer private lessons to younger students at all levels of performance. The Flute Choir gives concerts at the Wertheim Performing Arts Center at least twice a year as part of the School of Music festival or semester concert schedule.

We are currently seeking financial sponsors to help us with funding for music, instruments and special events, and hope we can count on your support. As a student musical group, we are looking forward to broadening our perspectives of the world and gaining a better understanding of music and instrumental performance.

The average cost for a good Alto Flute would be between $800 -$1000. The average cost for a good Bass flute would range between $1000 -$1300. The cost for music varies depending on the repertoire required. The average cost to bring in a guest flutist for a master class, workshop or performance can vary depending on the musician brought in and the event in question. The average cost for one of these can be well over $1000 when dining, living and travel expenses are considered.

Is it possible for you to assist us by making a contribution? Any amount of contribution would be appreciated. We plan to give performances and share our recordings, photographs, and experiences with contributors upon request.

• sponsor ad in program or flyer (ad size can range from business-card size to full page)
